Previously, we have discussed, that there are two worlds. One world, is this world, as it is written in 1 John 2:16: “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world” …
Baptism is a promise to God. A simple decision to give up one world for another. This world is sensual, attractive, and passing. Life in this world consists of nothing but empty vanity that in the end only leaves you with memories of the past – at most. The other world is Heavenly and eternal – Life in Christ. It is True Life, that is blissful and joyous and in the end it brings only more joy and peace and Eternal Life in Heaven. The promise is to COMPLETELY give up the former life in this earthly, sensual world, and to become a servant of God in the Heavenly. “Baptism – not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God” – 1 Peter 3:21
We should open up our needs towards each other, that is how we will know which gifts we actually need. If you don’t know what the Needs are, you don’t know what to serve with or what is needed. God reveals what our needs are and lays on our hearts what the other person needs. This is Love. Love helps those in need.
“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same on to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God: if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever ad ever. Amen.” 1 Peter (4:10-11)
It all starts with Love, which always manifests itself in Serving one another to fill each others needs. Why did God send His Son to this earth? Because people had a Need. People were in death and Needed to be Saved and brought to Life. It is God’s nature to help.
