Just as being born in the flesh – the person has never existed on earth, the same from God – born of God, a New Creation in Christ appeared, which previously had never been, this is a New Creature, the old has died; if the old creature, according to Adam, does not die, a new Creature in Christ and by Christ cannot appear. Hence it is very important to understand the birth from God.
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world….Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. (John 18:36-37)
For unto the angels hath He not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak…For verily He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham. (Hebrews 2:5,16)
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptable with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29)
There are two worlds, two universes.
This world, the fashion of which is passing away.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world…”, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 John 2:15, 17)
And the unwavering Kingdom of God, which is ready to be revealed (1 Peter 1:3-5), and will stand forever. (Daniel 2:44-45)
A world to come – is the goal of a believer! There is no greater purpose for a person than to attain life in the Heavenly Kingdom that is to come! There is nothing greater than this in your earthly life! This is a goal above all goals, and if you do not reach this goal, then it is simply terrible and scary to even think of what is awaiting!
This world is – temporary; the Heavenly world is – enduring forever!
“The fashion of this world passeth away…”
These are not empty words, but is the great truth from God, which has already been preached for thousands of years, and is being preached so that people would understand, believe and pass into a completely different Heavenly world. Jesus Christ revealed and showed through Himself the way to the Heavenly world!
You do not need to have a particularly deep understanding to see where this world is going! To see that it is passing! The surrounding environment is infected with various poisons, chemicals, atomic radiation. One factor that already speaks of this is that parties are already being created to protect the environment; people are uniting and protesting, but to stop the process of destruction is simply impossible! Wars are occurring unto destruction. It would seem that people have become so developed, have accomplished so much, they perfectly understand everything, what war is, but there is nothing they can do. War does not have time to stop in one region before it flares up in a different region! Floods, earthquakes, fires, famines, epidemics of diseases, organized crime – the whole world is sick with all sicknesses that exist, and to cure or stop the passing process of this world is absolutely impossible – for the fashion of this world is passing away!
But even more so the goal shines brightly – a world to come, the world of God, eternal, enduring forever! To know these two fashions: the fashion of this world and the fashion of the world to come, a believer needs to understand this and mix it with his faith. For, how well the person knows this, his faith depends on, for the purpose of faith is knowing that this world is temporary, passing; and that the world to come is – unshakable, eternal!
Jesus Christ’s main purpose for appearing in this world – was to preach about the Kingdom of God. His appearance in this world is firstly a testimony that there is truly a different, spiritual world, a world that has nothing to do with the physical, temporary world. Beginning His ministry in this world, Jesus Christ said: “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand” – then He said: “Repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). The Kingdom of God is the – GOAL, repentance and faith is the – WAY by which a person can enter this Kingdom!
Preaching, faith, the way, the teaching, the Cross, the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ – are the ways by which it is possible to pass into the spiritual, eternal Kingdom of God! The Kingdom of God, the world to come, new heavens and earth – the purpose for which I believe, strive, reach, using the word of the Cross, using Christ Himself, His life, His power! A clear example of this is the Israelites: Egypt – slavery; the promised land – goal! In order to reach this goal it was necessary to leave Egypt, walk the way to the goal, and then enter the promised land – which is the achievement of the goal! And it is the same today: this physical world – slavery; Kingdom of God is the – goal. In order to reach this goal, it is necessary to leave this world and to pass to the Kingdom of God. The exit, passing, entrance – this path is Christ!
The purpose of the Gospel is to – preach about the Kingdom of God.
“…Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God.” (Mark 1:14)
The Gospel is the preaching of the Kingdom of God that it is near, what it is like (which the Lord has shown through all His parables), and how to enter it. When in one city the people did not want Jesus to leave, but to remain with them, He said: “…I must preach the Kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.” (Luke 4:42-44) Here Christ shows why He came to this world: “For therefore am I sent”. And further, the Gospel says: “And it came to pass afterward, that He went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the Kingdom of God: and the twelve were with Him.” (Luke 8:1)
Then the Lord sends the twelve Apostles to preach the main purpose of the Gospel, the Kingdom of God (Luke 9:1-2). Then He chose other seventy disciples, and sent them two by two before his face, preaching the kingdom of God: “And if they receive ye not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.” (Luke 10:1, 8-12)
When the Lord resurrected, and appeared to the disciples for forty days, in those days He spoke to the disciples of the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:3). The main topic in all of the letters of Apostles, after Jesus Christ was taken up, has always been and still remains, the topic of the Kingdom of God, of the passing fashion of this world, of how to enter the Heavenly Kingdom. When Apostle Paul found himself living in a lodge in Rome, under the watch of a soldier, he called the chief of the Jews together, and when they came to him on an appointed day, from morning until evening he expounded to them of the Kingdom of God. And some believed, but others did not believe and would leave, Paul said that the word of salvation is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it! Further, it is written that Apostle Paul lived this way for two years, and received all that came in unto him, preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence (Acts 28:23-31).
Our Purpose – another, Heavenly world!
What is this other world? The word of truth reveals and says to us, that this other world is a spiritual world.
“Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.” (1 Corinthians 15:50)
“There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body…it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body…And as we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.” (1 Corinthians 15:44-50)
It is written about God: “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)
It is clear that if God is a Spirit, then His Kingdom cannot be of something else, it is also spiritual. What is a Spirit? Spirit is God, and also: the Spirit shows itself through a word, it is written of this: “Thy word is truth” (John 17:17) and: “The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). This is also revealed with the first words of the Gospel of John: “In the beginning was the Word…and the Word was God.” And so, God is a Spirit, Spirit is the Word!
Christ in the beginning was the word, the word of wisdom and understanding. (Proverbs 8; 9:1-6) Further “The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth…” (John 1:14) Then when Christ resurrected from the dead, became a quickening spirit, in other words, a Spirit that gives life (1 Corinthians 15:45).
In this other world, the Heavenly world, we see according to Scripture that only the righteousness will dwell therein (2 Peter 3:13), and anything that defileth neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie, shall not enter into it (Revelation 21:27; 8). According to the Scripture, we know that someone who was caught up into third heaven, he was in paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter (2 Corinthians 12:4). Therefore, everyone who is born of God, spiritually became a New creature, living by the Spirit (Romans 8:1-2).
Precisely that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3:6); That is why he is able to worship God in spirit and truth and to grow spiritually from a child unto full spiritual growth. The one who is born of God already became a citizen of the spiritual world to come, knows the taste of this other world, for the other world has its power and its taste (Hebrews 6:5). Therefore, it says: We ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip (Hebrews 2:1). “He that overcometh shall inherit all things.” (Revelation 21:7)
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” (Hebrews 10:38-39)
