The main purpose of Jesus Christ in His appearance in this world is to preach the Kingdom of God. His appearance in this world is, first of all, evidence that there is actually another, spiritual world, a world having nothing to do with the physical, temporary world. Beginning His ministry in this world, Jesus Christ first said: “the time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand” – then said: “Repent and believe the Gospel!” (Mark 1:15)
Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him! … -Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life! … I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world! … -Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day! … -He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him! John 6:27, 31-35, 51, 54, 56!
As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby! 1 Peter 2:2
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified! John 7:37-39
We see in the Gospel: God calls upon people who believe in Him – Do not work for food that perishes, which is for the flesh, it is not necessary, and it is quite clear, but for the spiritual food, which gives the Lord – it makes man immortal – gives eternal life!
Why did the Lord say: try to attain the spiritual food? – Because people do not need to say: “Try to attain things on this earth, in the flesh, of life – because they are already constantly busy with everything on this earth, for the food of the flesh, therefore the Lord said these words; “Try”- you are always and constantly trying to attain food for the flesh- and so try for the Heavenly food, as the earthly food will pass and does not give eternal life but heavenly food – gives man the mystery – eternal Life!
Please note: when and on what occasion the Lord said these words to the people? “So when the people saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples, they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus, and found him … Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me not because you saw signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled! “- they enjoyed eating bread without paying a penny, which they did not earn, but eating the most delicious bread for nothing, the best they had ever ate!
The Lord showed: that people are always concerned about the food of the earth, for the flesh! And this is where the Lord revealed the secret, which is of most importance, which gives real life, not temporary, but the eternal!
And something that is also important to see and understand here? – The doctrine of the Lord shows in Scripture, the example of water: “Go and drink!” In another case, the example of milk, “love the pure spiritual milk!” (John 7:37-39 = 1 Peter 2:2). And in the third example, the bread: “I am the Bread of Life – my flesh is real food and my blood is true drink!”. In all these cases, the food and drink is the word, but which word? – This is the most important thing to know and understand, exactly what Word is the true spiritual food for us?!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God! = And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,= For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ= If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free= For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death” (John 1:1-2,14,17 = John 8:31-32,36 = Romans 8:1-2).
It always comes to the pure-true word, it is the word that was in the beginning with God and was God, and today is God and will remain forever unchanged! This word carries immortality, it is immortality itself, because it is God, who alone has immortality (1 Tim. 6:16). It is the Word that was with God and was God – became flesh – was Jesus Christ – the Son of God, Son of Man and God: “This is the true God and eternal life = I and the Father are one” (1 John 5:20 = John 10:30!). Jesus Christ, who was the Word of God and became flesh, as explained in the word and doctrine, who was God, was Jesus Christ, the Word, and forever, always remains the Word of God!
The Word of God – is the Holy Spirit: “ It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”(John 6:63). Therefore we cannot add or subtract anything from the Word of God because to add something to the Word- is the devil! To reduce or subtract – then the word is distorted, it is not whole, it is not the teaching of the Lord – the devil has stolen it! So it is written: ” Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son = with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning = Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (2 John 1:9 = James 1:17-18 = Hebrews 13:8!).
Therefore, taking the pure teaching of the Lord, not distorted, we accept the Lord himself and God – His teaching, which is in us: ” but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel ” (2 Tim. 1:9-10) – it is in us, we accepted the same faith as the apostles, the dear faith of righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ! This precious faith of righteousness of our God allows us to accept”…… partakers of the divine nature to which is holiness – without which no man shall see the Lord” (2 Pet.1:4 = Hebrews 12:14).
If you understand the truth of the teachings of the Word of God, the pure Word, believed, received, and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ – He went into you by faith, and went into your conscience, became your conscience and your mind! Then begins growth and sanctification, which is again Him – He is our sanctification, and sanctification is spiritual growth: “From Him (the Father God) you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God (we have the mind of Christ: 1 Cor. 2:16), and righteousness and sanctification and redemption “(1 Cor. 1:30). Living by your conscience, which is Christ, all of our works are righteous. All that we do, say – is always the truth: “If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” (1 John 2:29).
You will be born of God by the Word of Truth (James 1:18) – “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification = but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (1 Thess. 4:3-4 = 2 Peter 3:18). For growth, which is the sanctification – one must have adequate nutrition, without proper nutrition one cannot have proper growth and sanctification! This is why the Lord urged: Do not work for food that perishes but for the Spiritual food – this is why I am writing this letter to you – if you have the right nutrition – then you will properly GROW AND SANCTIFY!
Take a simple example of your physical self: when you were born and in order for growth to occur, what does a baby do? – Drinks his mother’s milk! As it is told to us, newborn babes desire the pure milk – otherwise there will be no growth! And now you are grown – from what have you grown? – Can you say – how much bread you ate? How many potatoes, meat, eggs, butter, and so on.
From the experiences of life: if you come into the house of a fisherman, where the staple food is fish – everything smells like fish! If you come into the house of a farmer who keeps cows, and their main food – milk – everything will smell like milk!
But there is also spiritual food: the more one feeds of the pure Word of Faith – Jesus Christ – he will become as such, and his deeds will manifest, and he will smell of it- the spiritual fragrance! There I write this letter, “I – the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread will live for ever – He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life – For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is true drink” (John 6:48-58!) – The Lord is the Word, the Word is the Spirit – that is, feed yourself well, as it is written: “Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you”(1 Tim. 4:16).
“Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck =Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus!” (1 Tim. 1:5.19 =2 Tim. 1:13).
The Lord made a promise: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Mat.5:8) – the pure in heart have a clear conscience and mind! What defiles the mind and conscience? – UNCLEAN FAITH by unclean teachings: Titus 1:14 !!!
So, dive into the word of the teaching, stay honest and sincere to yourself, live with full faith, without wavering, and the Lord will accomplish the sanctification and spiritual growth, and there is no need to fear, but go in peace, and understand that our salvation is not by our works. Things that we can do and cannot do, but the Lord has accomplished all and our salvation is in Him. We cannot add nor subtract anything, because it is perfect! (2 Tim.1:9-10!).
